Embodyoga™ and Breath

February 18th   9:00 am–Noon

With Annelies Smith

Breath is the first experience of space.

— Peggy Hackney, Laban Movement Educator

In this workshop, we will deepen our understanding of breath. We will come to recognize through breath that it is sufficient to BE, simple and whole, connected within. Healing the Body-Mind is directly connected with full functioning respiration. Each cell can do what it is meant to do with greater results if the breath is more accessible. Breath joins outer awareness with inner sensation. We will use Embodied Anatomy, touch, pranayama and yoga asana to define the space where breath inhabits the body.

This workshop will be followed by a workshop May 6th entitled,
Embodying Structure

Annelies's teaching style combines patience with inspiration and a depth of knowledge.

For more than four years, Annelies has been practicing and teaching Embodyoga and Body Awareness with a dynamic blend of established Somatic principles on alignment, structure and body-mind integrity. Her work promotes efficient movement and relaxed vitality. It is the study of the depth and beauty one can create in Yoga practice, and any movement practice in everyday life. The result is evident to the eye and felt profoundly by the student.
